The Citizenship Papers examines issues of Irish citizenship and the role of emigrants in light of the upcoming referendum on voting rights in Presidential elections.
A joint project between VotingRights.ie, UCD's Clinton Institute, and VICA. Supported by a grant from the Emigrant Support Program of Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs, and by EPIC the Irish Emigration Museum.
Panels will discuss such topics as the constitutional case for extending the right to vote for all citizens, electoral reform, and the perspectives of Northern and emigrant citizens.
We'll present the latest findings on public opinion in Ireland on a host of topics related to citizenship and voting.
VotingRights.ie will release “The Citizenship Papers” on voting rights, election reform and role and contribution of emigrants in Irish society.
